Henry Osei Akoto, a national organizer hopeful for the opposition party NDC, has taken a swipe at the Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Richard Ahiagbah, following his comments on the address delivered by former President John Dramani Mahama on the economy about a week ago.
The 2020 Oforikrom parliamentary candidate who hopes to become the national organizer made a post via his Twitter handle describing Richard Ahiagbah as the emptiest Director of Communications the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has ever had.
Hon. Henry Osei’s statement came after Mr. Ahiagbah said in a tweet, “39 pages of little. Nothing new was said. We are fixing the problem.”
In his speech on Thursday at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Mr. Mahama criticized Ken Ofori-Atta, the finance minister, for the economic difficulties
Among other things, he argued that Mr. Ofori-Atta had been ignoring the guidance of astute experts working for the Finance Ministry.
According to Mr. Mahama, the Finance Minister prefers to hear advice on managing the economy from his Databank workers.
Mr. Mahama cited this circumstance as a contributing factor to the economic difficulties.
In a speech he gave on Thursday, October 27, at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), he stated, “We’ve had our own set of challenges in government but nothing we did, or the outcome thereof, has come anywhere close to the disaster unfolding before our eyes today.
“To be clear, we are in this mess because an untouchable finance minister, relying on his Databank workers, and neglecting the advice of seasoned experts at the Finance Ministry, has been left to run this economy into the ground”
