Community development has for ages on end been the go-to point for most political parties when General elections are almost due. The provision of social amenities throughout communities across the country is an ultimate goal of any government that comes into power. Some communities are however in more dire need of certain crucial amenities than others are.
Avatime- Gbadzeme of the Ho-West District in the Volta Region is one such community that seeks to defy odds when it comes to appeal for Government assistance. After years and years of exhausting all official channels to appeal for the construction of their main and feeder roads to no avail, the community has decided to once again revive a spirit lost to many in Ghana and the world at large-The Can-Do Community Spirit.
The Gbadzeme community decided to make use of communal labour to finally construct the very crucial road network that links the community to other communities around the district and the nation in general. Like many other communities, the bad roads have retarded economic development and have become death traps for commuters that patronize these road networks. The decision of the community to use synergy and communal labour to start up the project has won the hearts of many across the country.
