The UNISA Postgraduate Diploma and Honours Bursary 2022 is designed to assist UNISA alumni who are currently enrolled as South African students with their tuition costs.

This will enable them to register for their fully supported postgraduate education at UNISA. Students pursuing postgraduate diploma and honors programs are eligible for the grant.

What is offered?

The UNISA Postgraduate Diploma and Honours Bursary 2022 solely covers the qualified students’ tuition fees.

The amounts awarded to individual applications will be decided in collaboration with UNISA, the CGS Postgraduate Bursaries Administration, and the Division of Student Funding (DSF). They will make the final selection.

Priority will be given to students with higher averages during their undergraduate study.

Depending on the availability of money, students on the lower end of the scores may or may not get the bursary amount.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the UNISA Postgraduate Diploma and Honours Bursary 2022, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. The applicant must have finished their undergraduate studies at UNISA in South Africa.
  2. Applicants must have a minimum 60 percent average in their UNISA undergraduate degree.
  3. The highest-scoring students will get the rewards first, followed by the lowest-scoring students.
  4. Students will not be allowed to apply if they are unable to complete their undergraduate studies by January 31, 2022.
  5. Applicants who plan to enroll in special study programs in 2022, whether certificate or non-degree programs, are ineligible to apply.
  6. Students with a postgraduate degree at the same level or higher than the bursary are ineligible to apply.
  7. By February 28, 2022, applicants must be temporarily registered with UNISA.

Other conditions from the bursary providers:

  1. Students who receive a bursary can only be supported for the first two years of their studies.
  2. Any failed courses in the student’s postgraduate or honours degree will not be covered by the scholarship.
  3. UNISA does not guarantee that every qualifying applicant will be awarded a bursary. It will be determined by the cash available.
  4. Every year, students must reapply for the scholarship, and if they maintain their performance and meet all of the requirements, they will be awarded the bursary.
  5. If a student fails to meet UNISA’s requirements, their postgraduate diploma or honours bursary will be revoked.
