Henry Osei Akoto a national organizer hopeful for the opposition party NDC has given a piece of advice to Samira Bawumia, the wife of the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia which he think will help the New Patriotic Party and the country as a whole.
The Oforikrom parliamentary candidate who seeks to become the national organizer sent the message via his Twitter handle telling Samira Bawumia to advice her husband to drop his ambition of contesting for the presidential race in 2024 on the ticket of the NPP.
His comments come after the forex bureaus in parts of Accra started selling a dollar for 11 cedis on Saturday with various downgrades from several rating agencies including Fitch and Moody’s.
Bawumia became very popular close to the 2016 election as a result of his juicy promises to turn around the economic fortunes of the country.
Notably, in March 2020, the wife of the Vice President declared that her husband was an “economic Wizkid“, comparing him to International afrobeat star, Wizkid.
Henry Osei Akoto in the post on Twitter asked the second lady to advice her husband against running for president to save her and the NPP the imminent embarrassment.
“Dear Samira Bawumia, when you sleep tonight tell your husband Mahmud Bawumia to forget the presidential run. Do it for Ghanaians ,yourself and NPP,” the outspoken national organiser hopeful wrote in a tweet.
The cedi has depreciated by 37.1% against the dollar as of September 2022 according to data from the Ministry of Finance.
