The member of parliament for North Tongu, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has continued his “offensive” on exposing more on the president’s travels and his taste for luxurious private jets.
According to the MP who doubles as ranking member on the committee on foreign affairs in Parliament, claims that the presidential jet can’t make a straight flight to France are not true.
Refuting the excuses by the government on why the President is not using the presidential jet, Hon. Okudzeto who exposed the cost of the president’s travels alleged that someone other than the president has been using the presidential jet.
Appearing on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana, he stated that the jet has been in use even when the President is not in the country or is nowhere in the jurisdiction where the plane is being used.
Hon. Okudzeto revealed that his checks on the movements of the presidential jet revealed that while the president was in the United Kingdom, someone took the plane to France, contradicting claims by the defence minister that the jet can’t make a straight flight to France.
The member of parliament said the plane left the shores of Ghana to France on the 19th of July and returned on the 21st. He inquired who was using the aircraft.
The presidential jet was again spotted in Kumasi on August 28, Okudzeto stated. He added that the jet also flew to Lusaka, Zambia but without the president.
The ranking member said no one can dispute his allegations that the presidential jet which the president is refusing to use is being used by someone no one knows.
He added that the President just doesn’t care about what Ghanaians are going through.
