South African Society for Animal Science (SASAS) Bursary – SASAS Post-Graduate Bursary
The South African Society for Animal Science (SASAS) will provide bursaries to outstanding young students who are SASAS members and have completed their studies at a South African institution.
The amount of the bursary will be determined by the Council and will be awarded to the chosen candidate in two installments (one per year).
If the bursar does not complete his or her studies, SASAS reserves the right to demand the whole sum of the bursary, plus a 10% interest rate, from the bursary recipient.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must meet the following minimal entrance criteria in order to be eligible for this bursary:
- A post-graduate student who has graduated from a South African university
- A member of the South African Society for Animal Science (SASAS) (apply here to become a member)
- Achieved exceptional academic performance (cum laude)
- Intend to pursue education within any recognized animal science fields of study at any university in South Africa
- Qualified with at least a BSc (Agric.) in Animal Science or Animal Production
- Agree to undertake to complete the Honours degree within two (2) years and the Master’s degree within four (4) year.

The completed application form must be accompanied by the following supporting documents:
- Official study record
- Recommendation by study leader
- A certified copy of the graduation certificate for degrees already acquired by the applicant
- A certified copy of an official statement of all subjects and symbols already completed
