The president of the KNUST Students Representative Council, Samuel Sesah has backtracked on his promise to salvage hostel prices.
While running for office in 2020, the SRC President wrote and submitted a number of petitions concerning the ever surging hostel prices problem students have been facing.
Samuel Sesah and his then running mate, Morris Effah visited the Ashanti Regional office of Rent Control, and national body that is supposed to regulate rent in the country.
These moves were separate from countless articles and fliers which were shared by campaign boys of Mr Sesah and his vice with regards to hostel prices.
At the time, the aspirant believed he had the best plan and was the saviour that students needed to nip the hostel prices problem in the bud once and for all.
But as the problem surfaces once again under his leadership with prices being increased as high as by 89% by some hostels, the president has come to terms with the reality.
Replying a social media user who asked him why he failed in implementing his hostel prices plan, the SRC President said reality dawned on him.
