The vice presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress in the 2020 general elections, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has spent a colossal amount of money in purchase of a signed copy of the first-ever administrative history book of the NDC.

On July 27th, 2022; a red-letter day in the birth and life of the National Democratic Congress, a ceremony was held in the nation’s capital; Accra to officially launch the book which is considered a stockpile of the party’s impeccable administrative record and history, in the politics and governance of the Ghanaian republic.

According to sources, the first female Ghanaian vice chancellor was among a throng of bigwigs who graced the ceremony, and that, after leading the launch, she paid a whopping Ghc50,000 for the first copy of the book.

The launch was part of series of activities to celebrate the NDC’s diamond anniversary which first saw the light of day on June 10th 2022 at GNAT hall, Accra.

The book catalogues political achievements of the umbrella party, spanning the reigns and administrative terms of the party’s founder; flight lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings (late), former John Evans Atta Mills (late) and the tenure of former President John Dramani Mahama.

The National Democratic Congress has survived triple decades of political twists and turns. This has necessitated the celebration and compilation of the book to tell the NDC story to interested persons, the younger generation and posterity.
