The Member of Parliament for North Tongu has lashed out at Gabby Otchere-Darko for defending the president’s luxurious spending on private jets for his travels.
The MP previously accused the president of chattering a private jet for his travels in the middle of the year which costed the state £15,000 per hour.
He has again accused the president of chattering another private jet to Germany which costed the state $14,000 per hour to go and beg for vaccines.
Reacting to the MP’s claim, the President’s cousin, Gabby Otchere-Darko has defended the president, pointing out the most important talking points of his travel.
The renowned lawyer emphasised on the fact that the President secured 1.5 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccines and that is the most important thing.
Mr Gabby Otchere-Darko believes that talks of what jet the President flew on are trivial as compared to the value he brought to the state.
Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa disagrees. The MP who doubles as the ranking member on the committee on foreign affairs asserted that the president could have saved money on his expensive jets to buy the vaccines instead of going to Germany to beg.
He added that the President’s promise to protect the public purse wasn’t a serious one.
