Man Dies Trying to Escape Covid-19 Treatment Centre at Effiah Nkwanta

A man in his 50s has died while attempting to flee a Covid 19 treatment Centre in the Effiah Nkwanta Regional Hospital in the Western region.

The lifeless body of the pentagenarian was found in a prone position near the nurses’ quarters in the area. He was said to have engaged in a scuffle and threatened harm on the security man at post who questioned him on where he was exiting the facility to.

The hospital’s deputy director of nursing services, Justina Amo Yartey, while speaking to Adom FM’s Lord Tawiah indicated that the security personnel at the treatment centre sighted the patient leaving his ward on Thursday morning. Paulus Okine (the deceased) was referred to the Hospital’s Covid 19 management center from the Hospital’s Accident and Emergency Department on Wednesday, August 18.

The remains of the deceased, Paulus Okine have therefore been deposited at the mortuary while the matter has consequently been reported to the Secondi police command.
