Mahama Attends Burial Service For Young And Brilliant US-Based Ghanaian Engineer Who Drowned In Washington (Photos)

Former President John Dramani Mahama has graced the burial service of young and brilliant Engineer, Andrew Amuna.

The 27-year-old drowned when he went on a fishing expedition with a friend after moving to Washington only a week before the incident.

He drowned at Granite Point, Snake River, near Pullman County, Washington State.

Before his death, Andrew Amuna worked as an Engineer at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories in North Carolina. He was later transferred by the company to Washington.

Andrew graduated with a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering in December 2020 from the University of North Carolina and was the 2020 Graduate School Commencement Speaker.

Before his Masters education in the United States, he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Andrew father Ing. Dr. William Amuna was the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Grid Company Ltd under the erstwhile John Mahama administration.

The body of the late engineer arrived in Ghana on Wednesday August 11 and was buried on Friday August 13.

The burial service was held at the Mary Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Parish in Accra.
