About Islamic Relief SA

Islamic Relief is a non-governmental organization based in the United Kingdom that provides aid to people afflicted by natural disasters. It was founded in 1984.

It offers critical services, education, and sanitation to makeshift communities through monies provided by individual members around the world.

The Islamic ideals of peace and caring for the world, as stated in the Qur’an, guide the NGO.

The organization is registered in South Africa as Islamic Relief SA under Section 21. So far, it has aided more than five million people in the country who are living with AIDS.

Islamic Relief Bursary 2022 – 2023

Islamic Relief provides financial help to children who are unable to attend school.

They assist orphans and vulnerable children who have lost one or both parents to AIDS or other causes.

The grant is offered to undergraduate students in one of the following fields of study for the academic year 2022:

  1. Accounting Science and Economics
  1. Built Environment (Architecture, Construction)
  2. Engineering
  3. Financial Management
  4. Information Technology
  5. Logistics and Supply Chain Management

Students will be chosen depending on their needs. The bursary program will cover the following expenses after it has been awarded:

  1. Tuition fees
  2. Prescribed textbooks

You’ll be compensated in the form of an allowance for required textbooks. The money will be sent to the university where you are enrolled.

Bursars will be required to join the Graduates Association once they have completed their studies.

They’d also have to attend seminars and participate in activities, such as Islamic Relief’s community outreach programs.

They would be required to volunteer in remote areas devastated by natural catastrophes if necessary.

Shortlisted candidates will receive additional information within a few weeks of the closing date.

Consider your application unsuccessful if you do not receive any communication.

Eligibility Criteria

You must meet all of the eligibility requirements to be considered for the bursary program. Islamic Relief has laid forth these criteria to help them choose the best candidates.

The following are the eligibility requirements for the Islamic Relief Bursary for the years 2022–2023:

  1. Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 24.
  2. It is necessary to have completed Matriculation.
  3. Must be pursuing or willing to pursue a bachelor’s degree in one of the subjects of study listed above.
  4. Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in one of the approved public universities.
  5. You must be in desperate need of money.
  6. It is not permitted to receive funds from any other bursary or scholarship program.
  7. It is necessary to be dedicated to your study.
  8. After graduation, you must be willing to help the community and people.

Nationality or religion are not restrictions. Funding is available to students of any nationality or faith.

The organization, however, has the final say on whether or not to give the bursaries.

Documents Required

  1. ID documents / Passport for foreign students
  2. Matric certificate
  3. Grade 11 final results
  4. Proof of acceptance at the university / provisional acceptance letter
  5. Proof of income of parents/guardians (payslips, affidavit, pension statements)
  6. Death certificates, in case parents/guardians are deceased
  7. A quote of your tuition fees (certified copies)
  8. A list of your academic and personal achievements (within 250 words)
  9. Your involvement in the community (within 250 words)
  10. A motivational letter stating why you deserve the bursary funding (within 250 words)

You must complete the application process to be considered for the Islamic Relief Bursary. You have the option of applying online or offline.

To apply for an Islamic Relief Bursary online, fill out the Islamic Relief Bursary application form.

There are eight sections to the form, and you must complete all of them. Provide accurate and up-to-date information.

If you want to apply via email, you must first download and fill out the Islamic Bursary Application form.

Scan the documents listed above and save them in PDF format. After that, send them all to bursaries@islamic-relief.org.za
