The Ministry of Communciation will commence the re-registration of sim cards from today, October 1 2021.
The ministry on its official website said they have noticed some irregularities and deficiencies in previous sim registration exercise and has ordered for a new registration.

The ministry which oversees the operation of telcos in Ghana has urged operators in the new registration chain to ensure that the new registration process is in compliance with the relevant statutory provisions.
Unlike previous registrations, this new registration process can be started from the comfort of your room. All sim cards are expected to be registered including already registered ones.

The registration is in two folds. The first step can be done on your mobile phone and the second part will be undertaken by your service provider or an agent of the service provider eg, MTN, Vodafone, AirtelTigo, and Glo agents.
Below are the steps to begin your registration process on your phone:

PART I
1. Dial *404# on your phone
2. Enter your Ghana Card Pin (only letters and figures, no hyphen)
3. Confirm your Ghana Card Pin
4. Enter Your Surname
5. Enter your First Name and others
6. Enter tour Date of Birth in this order DD/MM/YY
7. Select Sex M/F
8. Confirm Details
9. Submit Details provided after Confirmation

Visit your network service provider to finish your registration process.
