The member of parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri and majority chief whip of the 8th Parliament has come under fire on social media for insulting Ghanaians taking part in the #FixTheCountry online demonstration.
The #FixTheCountry movement is a social media movement calling on the Akuffo-Addo government to fix the problems of the country following an increase in cost of livincoresulting from increase in taxes, petrol and other necessities.
The movement alongside a petition has gathered hundreds of thousands of participants fighting for a quick solution on twitter.
A tweet from the MP for Nsawam added salt to injury this morning after he called the campaigners fools; in local Ghanaian parlance “gyimie”.
The tweet which has since been deleted sought to criticise the campaigners for their part in drawing the country back. Posting a flier with the insult, the MP’s post called on Ghanaians to fix themselves first before calling on government to fix the country.
The tweet has since been deleted.
