A labour court in Accra has fined the University Teachers Association of Ghana for refusing to call of the ongoing strike.
The National Labour Commission (NLC) secured an injunction against the the union compelling them to call off their strike.
The group has been fined by the court this morning, to pay an amount of Ghc 3,000 for failure to comply with the ruling.
The NLC says that UTAG cannot continue to be on strike while having negotiations with the government and stakeholders.
UTAG however insisted there are no active negotiations between them and government.
The case has been adjourned to Thursday, August 19.
