Ghanaian sports journalist Saddick Adams has lamented the rate at which cement prices are rising in the country.
The award winning journalist has revealed that cement prices have risen at a 100% rate from December 2019 to the first quarter of 2021 alone.
The sports journalist took to his social media pages to share his sentiments on the situation.
Saddick who is normally seen advocating for better conditions of life for the Ghanaian youth asserted that, at this rate, young Ghanaians will find it very difficult to be able to build houses for themselves.
He added that the youth will die in the hands of the ever increasing cost of rent in the country.
He wrote: “Cement is FIFTY Ghana Cedis. From 24 cedis in December 2019. Young people may not be able to build with current wage levels. Therefore young leople will die of exorbitant rent arising from this. That’s the truth.”
