Astron Energy is South Africa’s second-largest petroleum product supplier. The company is part of the Glencore Group, which owns and operates South Africa’s third-largest crude oil refinery.

Glencore was created in 1974 and has since grown to become one of the world’s leading natural resource firms. Astron Energy was founded when Glencore acquired a majority stake in Chevron South Africa. It now uses Chevron’s petroleum brand name Caltex.

Under the Caltex brand, the corporation operates 850 service stations, which Aston Energy will shortly rebrand under their own identity.

The rebranding process has already started and will continue till the transaction is completed in stages. The company is dedicated to environmental and human protection.

The Astron Energy Bursary 2022

Astron Energy has entrusted CareerWise with managing the Astron Energy Bursary 2022. They are in charge of all crucial activities such as scanning, shortlisting, and admitting bursary candidates.

Bursary Coverage

The Astron Energy Bursary 2022 is a full bursary, which means it covers all of the selected candidates’ expenses:

  1. College Registration fee
  2. College Tuition fee
  3. Accommodation costs
  4. The cost of the student’s books
  5. The student’s Meal allowances

The students who have been shortlisted will be contacted by CareerWise. Shortlisted students will be required to participate in a panel interview. If all of the bursary requirements are met, CareerWise will make the final decisions.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Astron Energy Bursary 2022, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. The student who is applying must be a South African Citizen and have a South African barcoded ID.
  2. The student must either be –
    • Applying to a higher learning South African institution Or enrolled in a higher learning South African institution.
    • The student’s application should be recognized by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).
  3. The applicant must be able to demonstrate exceptional academic performance.

Students at a South African university studying in any of the following sectors of education are eligible to apply:

  2. Data Analytics
  3. Accounting, Finance and Economics
  4. Operations Management
  5. Property Studies
  6. Product Management
  7. Civil Engineering
  8. Electrical Engineering
  9. Mechanical Engineering
  10. Chemical Engineering
  11. Production Engineering
  12. Process and Industrial Engineering
  13. Mechatronics
  14. Supply Chain Management
  15. Digital Marketing
  16. Sales and Marketing
  17. Communication and Media Studies
  18. Linguistics
  19. Graphic Design
  20. Industrial Psychology
  21. Human Resources Management
  22. Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry
  23. Occupational Health and Safety
  24. Environmental Health

How to Apply?

Students who meet the criteria can apply for the Astron Energy Bursary 2022 on the CareerWise website.

Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply for the Astron Energy Bursary 2022.

Documents Required

Students applying for the Astron Energy Bursary 2022 must have the following documents on hand when they submit their application:

  1. A copy of the student’s South African ID proof (certified copy)
  2. Certified copy of academic Results:

To be considered for the bursary, Matric students must provide the following documents:

  • A copy of their latest results
  • A copy of their University Acceptance Letter

Students enrolling in one of the disciplines listed above at a South African university must provide the following documents:

  • Proof of registration at that particular university
  • A copy of their latest academic results
